Booker's Retreat is located in the heart of the Salmon-Challis National Forest in historic Shoup, Idaho. Literally a gateway to the Frank-Church Salmon River of No Return Wilderness, Booker's Retreat is a hideaway for adventure seekers, whitewater enthusiasts, hunters, fishermen, and anyone who enjoys the outdoor life. Along the Wild and Scenic Salmon River, near its confluence with Panther Creek, Booker's Retreat is located at 2660 Salmon River Road, Shoup, Idaho. The legacy of Booker's Retreat began as the Bear Placer Mineral Survey established in the early 1900's. Later, the property was home to the Civilian Conservation Corps, Panther Creek Camp F-176. While some evidence of the CCC camp exists today, Booker's Retreat is now dedicated to enjoying all Idaho has to offer. Booker's retreat is home to a beautiful, rustic campground featuring Mother Chukar's Cafe. We also have a limited assortment of basic necessities, ammo, fishing gear, and are an NRS dealer for river supplies. For more information, click on the links above.
